Boundedness for parabolic singular integral with rough kernels and its commutators on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces

In this paper, the authors give the boundedness on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces for the parabolic singular integral with rough kernel and its commutator.     

Measurement and correlation of densities and viscosities of pure 1,7-dibromoheptane and 1,7-dibromoheptane in ethanol at temperatures from 288.15 to 323.15 K

The densities and viscosities of pure 1,7-dibromoheptane and 1,7-dibromoheptane in ethanol had been determined from 288.15 to 323.15 K. The relative viscosities were correlated using the Carl L. Yaws equation. The results showed that the model agreed very well with the experimental data.     

A class of Gaussian processes with fractional spectral measures

We study a family of stationary increment Gaussian processes, indexed by time. These processes are determined by certain measures σ (generalized spectral measures), and our focus here is on the case when the measure σ is a singular measure. We characterize the processes arising from σ when σ is in one of the classes of affine selfsimilar measures. Our analysis makes use of Kondratiev white noise spaces. With the use of a priori estimates and the Wick calculus, we extend and sharpen (see Theorem 7.1) earlier computations of Ito stochastic integration developed for the special case of stationary increment processes having absolutely continuous measures. We further obtain an associated Ito formula (see Theorem 8.1).     

Direct sums and the Szlenk index

For α an ordinal and 1<p<∞, we determine a necessary and sufficient condition for an ?p-direct sum of operators to have Szlenk index not exceeding ωα. It follows from our results that the Szlenk index of an ?p-direct sum of operators is determined in a natural way by the behaviour of the ε-Szlenk indices of its summands. Our methods give similar results for c₀-direct sums.     

Continuity of magnetic Weyl calculus

We investigate continuity properties of the operators obtained by the magnetic Weyl calculus on nilpotent Lie groups, using modulation spaces associated with unitary representations of certain infinite-dimensional Lie groups.     

Bounded mean oscillation and bandlimited interpolation in the presence of noise

We study some problems related to the effect of bounded, additive sample noise in the bandlimited interpolation given by the Whittaker-Shannon-Kotelnikov (WSK) sampling formula. We establish a generalized form of the WSK series that allows us to consider the bandlimited interpolation of any bounded sequence at the zeros of a sine-type function. The main result of the paper is that if the samples in this series consist of independent, uniformly distributed random variables, then the resulting bandlimited interpolation almost surely has a bounded global average. In this context, we also explore the related notion of a bandlimited function with bounded mean oscillation. We prove some properties of such functions, and in particular, we show that they are either bounded or have unbounded samples at any positive sampling rate. We also discuss a few concrete examples of functions that demonstrate these properties.     

Remarks on the regularity criteria for generalized MHD equations

We study the Cauchy problem for the generalized MHD equations, and prove some regularity criteria involving the integrability of ∇u in the Morrey, multiplier spaces.     

Essential spectra of quasi-parabolic composition operators on Hardy spaces of analytic functions

In this work we study the essential spectra of composition operators on Hardy spaces of analytic functions which might be termed as “quasi-parabolic.” This is the class of composition operators on H² with symbols whose conjugate with the Cayley transform on the upper half-plane are of the form φ(z)=z+ψ(z), where ψ∈H^∞(H) and ℑ(ψ(z))>?>0. We especially examine the case where ψ is discontinuous at infinity. A new method is devised to show that this type of composition operator fall in a C*-algebra of Toeplitz operators and Fourier multipliers. This method enables us to provide new examples of essentially normal composition operators and to calculate their essential spectra.     

A Proper Generalized Decomposition for the solution of elliptic problems in abstract form by using a functional Eckart-Young approach

The Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD) is a methodology initially proposed for the solution of partial differential equations (PDE) defined in tensor product spaces. It consists in constructing a separated representation of the solution of a given PDE. In this paper we consider the mathematical analysis of this framework for a larger class of problems in an abstract setting. In particular, we introduce a generalization of Eckart and Young theorem which allows to prove the convergence of the so-called progressive PGD for a large class of linear problems defined in tensor product Hilbert spaces.     

Weighted Sobolev L2 estimates for a class of Fourier integral operators

In this paper we develop elements of the global calculus of Fourier integral operators in ${{\mathbb R}^n}$ under minimal decay assumptions on phases and amplitudes. We also establish global weighted Sobolev L² estimates for a class of Fourier integral operators that appears in the analysis of global smoothing problems for dispersive partial differential equations. As an application, we exhibit a new type of weighted estimates for hyperbolic equations, where the decay of data in space is quantitatively translated into the time decay of solutions.
